This community has a population of less than 200 inhabitants, who live in houses constructed in their majority of wood walls and palm or zinc roofs.
The settlers, in their majority, are indigenous coming from Bahia Azul and Cricamola. It is arrived by sea at the community and the transport more common are the wooden boats with or without enginee.
The ways of the community are not paved. In spite of his proximity with Bocas del Toro, they do not have an aqueduct and they take water from wells or of rain, they either do not count on electricity nor phone services. In the community there is primary school.
The main activities are the agriculture of subsistence, the fishing and extraction of lobsters, the handicrafts, hunting and the wood extraction.
Very close to the community, moreover the coral reefs just in front, visitors can find another attraction: Hospital Point, where the history of the banana plantations of the beginning of the Twentieth Century meets the actual reality of spectacular rainforest with their special fauna and flora.
