CORAL CAY

Coral Cay or, as its real name is, Crawl Cay, is a tiny island surrounded by mangroves, located in the channel between the islands Bastimentos and Popa. It is a great tourist point of attractive because the coral formations, in very good state, that there are at both sides of the key.

There, a small community has settled down, distributed between the coast of the cay and the one of the neighboring Bastimentos island. This small village its mostly built over the sea.

In this community there are three excellent restaurants specialized in seafood and a group of lodging cabins. The beauty of the landscape does of superb frame for the simple but flavorful food and turns the visit in a pleasure.

By the characteristics of the place the children of this community attend their primary classes in the neighboring school of the Popa 2 village, to where they are transferred daily in boat.

The visitors of these restaurants will be able to appreciate close by, due to the clarity of waters, numerous species of marine fish that come to the foot of the cabins, to be fed by the locals and the tourists, as usual.

In one of the restaurants, small stairs allow the visitor to go into the fascinating marine world practicing snorkelling in a safe environment (no waves, almost no currents).
