At short distance from Boca del Drago, toward the open sea, this small cay, which is itself a protected area, is the nesting site of two species of birds: the brown booby (Sulla leucogaster) and the tropic bird (Phaethon aethereus). The tropic bird is extremely rare in our hemisphere. To avoid disturbances to the birds, disembarking on the island is not allowed, nor recommended.
