The fauna of the Bocas del Toro Archipelago is characteristic of tropical islands with rainforests and important marine ecosystems like coral reefs, mangroves and seagrass beds.

For the purpose of this description we classified the fauna in three main groups: birds, land/amphibious and marine fauna. Marine turtles are included in the marine fauna.
