In the north of the Bastimentos Island exist one of the places that receive more visitors from the tourism that arrives to the islands: the Red Frog Beach (real name: Dreft Beach).
The way to reach the beach is also part of the tour: because of the strong waves on the beach, that it is toward the open sea, it is not recommended to bring a boat there, so, the tours leave the tourist in the other side (south) of the island in a place where begins an interesting and in good condition trail that crosses this part of the island and let the people in the beach after only 15 minutes.
During the walking by the trail it is possible to see sloths, the red dart frog and many birds, depending on the time of the day and the condition of the weather.
On the beach there is a place where to get drinks, water and also some meals. The cost of the use of the trail (it is private) is $ 3.00 per person. Pay attention to the condition of the waves and don't go very far in the sea because there are dangerous currents.
